  SOAR with Empire Express Youth Running Club

  Our coaches believe in creating a fun and healthy environment in which each athlete can develop at a rate individually appropriate for them. Our practices are challenging which will help build self-motivation in our leaders of the future. We use running as a means to empower strong and confident kids. All ability levels are welcome.

  Fall Program:

  Empire Express practice takes place at Rincon Valley Community Park(Badger Rd side under the trees near the parking lot). Runs will vary in distance. 

  This program is ideally designed for children ages 11-13 or entering 6-8th grade.
  

  Dates/Times:

  November 11 – December 4

  Tuesday/Thursday 3-4:30 PM. 

  Registration includes entry in the Last 10k / Final 2-Mile race on Saturday 12/6

  Cost:
  $129 per child for ERC members / $145 per child for non-ERC members.

  Group size: Minimum of 4 and maximum of 15.

  
  

  Our Purpose
  To instill the love and simplicity of running in children through games, drills, and movement. SOAR (Strength, Optimism, Awareness, Respect) components will be woven into our practices.

  McGuire's Breakfast Runs

  3K & 8K Races

  Two events - run for fun or as competitive as you like.  The races are run consecutively - the 3K is first and the 8K will begin as soon as the 3K is complete.  You are welcome to run one or both events.

  No divisional awards at these events (but sometimes we have a small treat for finishers).

  Breakfast potluck immediately following the 8k race.  Please bring a breakfast food / drink item to share (and your own plates and utensils if at all possible). The potluck will be indoors in the school auditorium.

  We encourage all participants to consider becoming an Empire Runner's Club member which includes free race registration year-round to multiple events and additional opportunities.

  LAST 10K and FINAL 2-MILE

  The Last 10k is Empire Runners last race of the calendar year. You will run on paved paths and trails during the race. Finish the race with an Empire Runner mug of hot chocolate and enjoy the company of the club runners.

  Start at Camp Watam 

  Run from Howarth Park to Spring Lake Park. Mile 1 is before the dam

  Veer Left at the Chin-up bars to trail

  Cross over Violetti Entrance to Trail

  Left at Swim Lagoon

  Run paved Path to Railroad Bridge (near Rough Go Trail

  U Turn and take a left towards Hoen Exit

  Run THROUGH Campground towards Boat Ramp

  Turn Right at the first trail and run over the dam

  turn Left and run down along lake

  Follow Fishermans Trail turn left back to Howarth Park
