Candidates [3] for the 2027-2028 Empire Runners Board of Directors

Teresa Daly

Candidate Bio: Teresa appreciates the nomination and the opportunity to join the ERC Board of Directors. She ran a little in high school, but really got into running a few years ago during COVID, starting with simple road running with a stroller. As her daughter has gotten older, Teresa discovered trail running and ultras. She currently runs cross country and track for SRJC and has enjoyed doing so with the support of her 6-year-old daughter. Her daughter has also competed in several ERC track races and done remarkably well. Teresa would like to see more kids' programs, having had so much fun with the summer track series, and is happy to help build the Club as needed. She also looks forward to joining the ERC cross country team once she graduates from the JC.

David Pillard

Candidate Bio: David is a Santa Rosa native and lifetime lover of the outdoors—particularly running, cycling, and camping. He is also a self-described huge nerd who can often be found at a board game night or watching Star Trek with friends. David first got into running in middle school, following in the footsteps of his dad, who ran from his 30s into his mid-70s—so it truly runs in the family. After running off and on over the years, he got back into it regularly for good in 2017. Since then, he has competed in numerous Bay Area races, including many Empire Runners events. Appreciating all that Empire Runners has done to grow the local running community and culture, David is excited to give back and support the organization in any way he can.

John Rose

Candidate Bio: John serves as Empire Runners’ volunteer Sponsorship and Promotions Director, where he represents the club at local races and pub runs to help grow membership. He is a board member of the Santa Rosa Ski Club and hopes to host Empire Runners for trail runs in Tahoe from their lodge.

A late-comer to the sport, John is a casual runner who enjoys 10Ks and club runs when not volunteering. He is especially passionate about introducing kids to running and wants to see more Sonoma County athletes on the Olympic stage. He envisions serving on the Empire Runners board will aid in increasing membership and encouraging young runners.
