President’s Weekend Relay Challenge


This is a relay race made up of four runners.

DIVISIONS:

  • Male (can include 1 female) 
  • Female (all must be females) 
  • Co-ed (must have two females) 
A person can run for two teams. That runner must run their designed course twice.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: 

  • At least one member of each team must register and enter the team name in the registration form. 
  • When you submit your results, you will be asked to provide all team member names, ages, gender, and times.
  • OPTIONAL: Other team members may register if they would like to make a donation to the student grant fund, but this is not required to participate in the challenge.
  • If you do not have a team, enter TEAMLESS in the team name field to be assigned to a team.
  • Entry deadline is Wednesday February 10.

COURSE:

You will design a two-mile course that starts and finishes at the same spot. Team members do not have to run the same course.

DISTANCE: 2 miles.

DATES: Friday February 12, Saturday February 13, Sunday February 14 (eat chocolate) Monday February 15.

TIME: Your choice

RULES: Each team member must run the course only on the four dates Feb 12-15. Teams do not have to all be present on the same day and everyone can run their leg alone on any of those days.

SUBMIT RESULTS: 

  • Please complete this google form to submit your results.
  • The link to a google form for submitting your results will be posted here by Friday, February 12.
  • Identify one member of your team to submit results for all runners on the team.
  • The deadline for results will be midnight Tuesday February 16. The results will be published on the Empire Runners website.

DRAWING: There will be one drawing for the Grand Prize of Red Vines. The winner will be drawn from a hat or box by a member of the Santa Rosa High Cross Country Team. I will contact the lucky winner to make the transfer.

RESULTS/AWARDS: Results will be posted. All Club members will get 75 Grand Prix points.

RULES FOR COVID SAFETY:

PLEASE ADHERE TO ALL SONOMA COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT GUIDELINES.

  • No more than 10 people gathering
  • You must be at least 6 feet apart from others unless you are passing.
  • Wear a mask
  • When you have a group, each person should start with few minute delays.
  • You can only run together with a family member or someone you live with.
  • Park only in permitted areas.
  • Obey all park rules and regulations.
