Jerry Lyman
"Pappy" came to the club relatively late, but when he came we soon
knew who he was -- one of the three or four who are still there on a
long run when everyone else has dropped back. Jerry was President, then
meet director for Kenwood and the Empire Open, all within a few years of 
joining the club.  He is one of a few who can be counted on to be at just 
about every workout and club event, and the one to go to when you need 
something done.  In addition, he leads an exercise class MWF at 6:30am at 
the YMCA (Ralph Harms old class), and is an active mountain climber in that 
Empire Runner's sub-group.  Like Larry Meredith, he hails from the midwest, 
Illinois, and graduated from Harvard before coming to California.  His wife 
Cathy, who he met at Stanford, is the Pastry Chef at the SRJC Culinary Arts 
Training Program.  Jerry and "Cat" have hosted many meetings at their house 
where we have been treated to her cooking skills.
