Bob Shor Empire Runners has been especially lucky to have Bob Shor. Bob is well known not just locally, but throughout the State as an official. He knows how. The Pacific Assn of USATF often calls on him to handle the timing and running of events at large track meets. He knows where the start and finish lines are, where to put the hurdles, how to make it all run efficiently. He will arrive in the dark before anybody to set up, work all day starting races, and be the last to leave that night -- then do it all again the next day as these meets can go on for days. He still finds time to run the local youth club, Santa Rosa Express, and to organize the timing and running of just about every Empire Runner's race. As a track coach at SRHS, he is also involved in high school meets. Bob was a distance runner in college, but his running days ceased when he stepped on a land mine while serving as an officer in Viet Nam, an injury that still affects his hearing and gait on one side.
