Al Tagliaferri
Big Al is most famous now for Tagliaferri's Deli which he opened in Novato a few
years ago.  Empire Runners always stop there on their way home from races south
of Novato.  When he served as president Al was a mortgage banker at a local S&L,
and he made a courgeous career change with the opening of the Deli, which has 
been fabulously successful.  Tag is from New York, although he came here from 
Texas, and he has the New York style.  He is always fun to talk to.  He coached 
track while in Texas and is a disciplined runner, although the Deli has left 
little time for running lately.  His wife Carli is also a runner and loved Empire 
Runner. Tag and Carli recently married off both kids, a daughter and son, who 
occassionally still help out at the Deli.  Tag has been catering our annual party 
since the Deli opened, so if you're not sure who he is, look for the man in charge 
in the white apron.
